09/26/2017 - Clarification

For clarification, the test server is running the exact same code as the live version of P&W currently, with the exception that turns are every half hour instead of every 2 hours. This means that there are 48 turns in a day instead of 12.

09/26/2017 - First Tournament

We will be attempting the first P&W test-server tournament starting at 12AM 28 September 2017 server time. The tournament will run for one week, and the top nation & top alliance at the end of that week shall be pronounced the winners. Winning won't offer any prizes this time, but should this work out alright, I will run more official tournaments in the future.

Before the tournament starts I will remove all nations from the game and everyone will start with an increased amount of money & resources, as well as 3 cities. You will have 12 turns (about 6 hours) of beige protection from the creation of your nation.

The creation of multis (more than one nation) during this tournament is strictly prohibited, and doing so will result in your disqualification and banishment from any future tournaments.

06/06/2017 - Multis on the Test Server

Just a heads up, I would like to start running some 'tournaments' here on the test server in the near future. Obviously that will require a stricter enforcement of the rules. I am asking you all now, nicely, to please stop creating multis here, and when you get a chance, please delete the nations of multis. Thanks.

03/07/2017 - Bug Fixing

I believe a couple of issues are fixed - namely: Ground Battles weren't destroying aircraft properly with Ground Control, and Naval Battles were meant to destroy 18 Resistance each, not 15.

02/17/2017 - Test Server Reset & Changes

The test server has been reset, time for some testing!


Some changes have been implemented, in particular to the war system. It's your job to test them out, find bugs, and then offer feedback on the change in gameplay. The changes are:

* Ground Control has been changed. Ground Control now allows you to destroy 3%/2%/1% of your opponent's aircraft during ground battles, depending on the victory type.

* Airstrikes against tanks have been nerfed by half. Ground battle tank casualties have been increased significantly.

* Air Superiority has been changed. Air Superiority now makes it so that your opponent only gets +5 resistance (instead of 10) when they fortify.

* Naval Battles now cost 5 MAPs (instead of 4). They also destroy 15/12/9 opponent resistance (instead of 14/11/8)

* Fortify now costs 4 MAPs to use


My analysis of how these changes should impact things is that:

Ground units can counter air units through ground control. Team play with ground units can defeat an opponent who just has a superior airforce. Aircraft can't counter this because they're not good at killing tanks anymore. Aircraft are still great at killing ships, and heavily counter a ship military build. Ships can beige a nation in just 28 turns, the faster than any other units. This makes them superior to ground units in a race, and ground units of course cannot attack ships. Aircraft have a new role in being able to (help) counter an opponent who is turtling with Fortify. Fortify has reduced effectiveness in that it costs more to use (which means you can still turtle, but you'll do less offensive damage to an opponent) and has a counter (aircraft.)
