The Mandate of Orsosonia is a minor state in Europe, holding it's territory for hundreds of years. A small nation though they defend themselves with incredible ferocity, boasting a tremendous naval power for it's size and population, and an incredible fighting force funded by massive commerce and international trade lanes supplied by Orsosonia's plentiful spice farms and ore reserves. Lead by it's Mandator, Steven Carter, the state is technically autocratic after the dissolution of the Senate in 2046, though there are small regions with their own autocracy scattered across the area. The military is similarly divided, with Carter's Mandate holding roughly 95% of the fighting force, the remaining 5% being divided between the regions for quick defensive deployment, improving response times where military deployment is unnecessary. Mainly monocultural due to the nation's self interested protection of cultures during the reign of Johannes Carter in 2211, a huge loyalty to the nation is instilled and military recruitment is seen as highly honourable to the nation's population, and to die in service of the Mandate is seen as the greatest honour. Even for those who do not sign up, as it is not required, a great discipline can be seen, and crime rate is low, those who disobey the law seen as harming all, not just the victim. 

The Mandate's power is in the capital city; Verstone, the administrative capital of the nation, and Orson, the historical capital. Orson, a culturally significant location for the nation, is hidden from view in a valley, access restricted to foreign diplomats, residents, and citizens granted permits to visit. Beyond that, each region holds it's own seats of power, too numerous to name, so will be omitted here. These core and secure areas house the majority of the residents of the nation (despite being a fractional minority of the available space), though a great number of people, measured in the thousands, venture out deep into the tundra to make their home far from the law, and the punishments it carries. Crime rate in these areas is much greater without societal pressure to dissuade it, and violence and riotry is rampant, a constant annoyance for the nation's regional forces. 

The Mandate's military centers around heavy firepower at long range, striking targets before they have the time to respond, breaking through enemy lines with incredible speed and power, reminsicient of the Blitzkreig of old, with units designed specifically to support this doctrine, though if it must take part in huge, frontal battles it is more than prepared to do so and has a composition that is capable of dynamically switching roles to take on any strategy, based off the preference of the commanders in charge.
