07/03/2023 - New Army Value Modifier and Credits Reset

Hiya folks,

Just popping in here to say the new army value modifier (https://forum.politicsandwar.com/index.php?/topic/35810-game-development-discussion-superiorities-feedback) is now live on the test server for the remainder of the tournament. I also manually reset the credit redemption limits because for some reason the game didn't do it automatically like it's supposed to.

03/13/2022 - Test Server Issues

Hello everyone,

Thanks for participating in the tournament so far!

I know there are a variety of issues with the test server - we are working on those. This is certainly going to be an imperfect tournament.

The primary goal is ultimately to thoroughly bug test the new Alliance Positions update. So even with the issues, we'll just keep running along in this short and quick tournament to still try to accomplish that goal.

That said, I am working through a variety of other issues. For example, it seems turns are happening every 1 hour, and I am trying to get military resets to happen every 6 hours, at 12AM, 6AM, 12PM, and 6PM server time (regardless of your selected update reset time here on the test server.)

If you run into a bug, the best way to report it would be to open up a ticket on Discord in the #support channel. Especially if you run into any issues regarding the Alliance Positions update.

Thank you all for your patience, and while this tournament may be very messy, this is helping us iron things out to deploy to the regular server, as well as resolving issues which will allow for more fun and competitive future tournaments here.

03/12/2022 - Test Server Tournament: Gauntlet

The time has come… for a new Test Server Tournament!

Yes, the long wait is over. We have scheduled a short, low-stakes test server tournament, with the primary goal of testing and debugging some new features, namely Treasure Trading and a new Alliance Positions management system.

There are a few other changes as well, including 3 new National Projects, and change to City Score (100->75).

This tournament will help ensure all of these changes are properly debugged before getting deployed to the test server.

We haven’t run a test server tournament in a while, so things may go horribly wrong. It may be unfair with totally game-breaking glitches. So don’t take it too seriously.

That said, I will have some prizes to encourage competitiveness:

·         #1 Score Alliance at conclusion of the tournament will be allowed to permanently add a flag of their choice to the default flag dropdown on the test server

·         The top 10 players by Score will be receive an achievement in the live (regular) server

·         The alliance with the most Treasures at the conclusion of the tournament will be allowed to permanently add a flag of their choice to the default flag dropdown on the test server

·         The nation with the most wars on at the conclusion of the tournament will receive an achievement in the live (regular) server

The tournament is scheduled to start at 12:00AM Server Time (UTC+0) on March 13, 2022. The Tournament will last for 5 days, and end at 12:00AM Server Time on March 18, 2022.

All participants will register an account on the test server at https://test.politicsandwar.com and new nations will start with:

·         2 Days Beige Time

·         $500,000,000 starting Money

·         1,000,000 starting Food

·         350,000 starting all other resources

·         10 Cities

If you have not used the test server before, turns happen every 30 minutes rather than every 2 hours. There is still one daily midnight server update.

Creating multiple nations is not allowed. Please do not create multiple nations. I will be asking our new moderator hires Blastermars and Kaaaath to help moderate and give them full discretion to identify/ban multis (this will be good practice for them; currently I am not having them rule on multi reports on the live server.) There is no Verification on the test server, please just create one nation per household/network.

There was a bug with importing about half of the VIP nations from the live server - the bugged nations were just deleted. So you may or may not have a nation here if you have VIP on the live server.

11/21/2021 - Cleaning up the test server

Long overdue, but I have wiped the test server. I’m working on the alliance positions update and I thought it would be time to clean things up – people had really overbuilt and I know the test server was riddled with all sorts of issues.

I wanted to try importing some nations from the live server, so I brought over all the VIP players in the live server that aren’t in vacation mode. I brought over nations, cities, and alliances, so a pretty basic import. If you fall into that category you can log in on the test server with your same live server email & password.

Hopefully in the near future we’ll get a tournament up and running, but for now we’re still just doing general bug testing, and specific bug testing with regard to the new custom alliance positions update.
